The cardiologist called me the other night and said the 2-D echo looked basically normal, he wants to recheck one thing in about 3 weeks. The Holter Monitor looked okay. There is still no explanation for the racing pulse and shortness of breath. I am incredibly weak and trying to walk around the house to gain some strength. They can't seem to find a reason for these problems. I have been wearing a Lidocaine pain patch over my rib fracture sites, but I question if that is really helping. I had really hoped to be feeling much better at this point in time, but trying to remain patient. Linda

  1. Patience is KEY at this point. Like the DR's all say, it will be a slow process of building yourself back up. Wether it be eating, walking, whatever. Just remember, you are going from zero activity from after your surgery. Thats your starting point, and you won't be up to normal over night. Can't stress that enough! But you WILL build back up. You are very strong and have been all along. If you could tackle that surgery then you can do anything. ANYTHING!!

We love you and continue to be amazed by what you have accomplished.

    Love,
    Shawn, Jen, & Cooper

  2. Try not to get overwhelmed by the full scope of your recovery. Instead take it one day at a time. Right now you just have to get through today. When that seems impossible, know that I’m just a phone call (and a short drive) away. And remember all the people out there who are sending you healing thoughts and prayers, and who are there for you if you should ever need anything at all! Baby steps, it WILL get easier, you WILL get better every day. Give it time. There is no rush. In the meantime, don't put so much pressure on yourself. You are working hard and I'm so proud of you.

  3. you have shown so much strength in the face of what has been such a monumentally difficult time. you are an inspiration to all of us; it's no wonder you have so many people thinking of and praying for you. you'll get through this eventually -- you've come too far not to. :)
